BOTOX/DYSPORT/DAXXIFY
Neuromodulators, such as Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® are injectable medications used to relax muscles and prevent visible signs of aging. When these agents are strategically placed, they soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while eliciting a more relaxed, refreshed, and awakened appearance.

BOTOX/DYSPORT/DAXXIFY
Neuromodulators work by targeting the root causes of wrinkles in the skin. Starting from when we are young we make facial expressions regularly. When we are younger there is more collagen and elastin in the tissue so lines and wrinkles usually don’t form. As we age collagen begins to deplete, and the skin loses its elasticity and hydration, therefore leading to more prominent lines and wrinkles.
Over time these lines and wrinkles become a permanent fixture on the face and give the appearance of an aged complexion. Targeted Botulinum treatments can relax some of the muscles of facial expression and cause these lines to soften and disappear over time.
Neuromodulators are by far one of the most sought-after anti-aging procedures in the world, which is certainly no surprise as most patients are captivated after their first treatment.
Once treated, the effects will appear gradually and last on average 3-4 months before wearing off. Treatment dose varies as no two faces are the same. Here at The Alchemy Clinic, our goal for each neuromodulator treatment is to provide you with natural and predictable results time and time again.
Patients who are interested in neuromodulators typically also benefit from treatments to improve skin quality. Take a look at our facial rejuvenation procedures (insert link) for more information on how to achieve transformative skin results.
Daxxify is the newest neuromodulator on the market and is different from the rest of the agents available. Daxxify is made of Botulinum Toxin A, just like the others, however, instead of being bound by protein molecules, Daxxify is bound by a positively charged peptide. Given the positively charged nature of this peptide, research shows that it may have more affinity to the synapse in the muscle leading to more rapid onset and longer-lasting results.

Q&A
How long do neuromodulators last?
On average a treatment may last 3-4 months for most patients. Daxxify may last upwards of twice as long as your traditional treatments.
How long does it take to see results from a neuromodulator treatment?
Results start to kick in a few days after treatment and reach full effect between 10-14 days. Patients choosing Daxxify may see results kick in a bit faster.
Can I combine a neuromodulator treatment with other cosmetic procedures?
Yes! It is very common for neuromodulators to be given on the same day as procedures such as dermal fillers, PDO threads DiamondGlow, and microneedling. When using energy based devices that will leave a considerable amount of heat in the tissue we recommend that treatments be performed on different days.
What are the potential side effects of neuromodulators?
The most common side effects include bruising, mild swelling, and headaches. Ptosis (drooping of eyelid) can occur, however when being treated by a trained professional that is treating each patient individually, the likelihood of this occurring is rare.
